About this artwork

Ousmane Mbaye creates furniture in metal from recycled materials, such as drum lids and water pipes. He started his career as a refrigerator technician and then, in his 30s, he began to work as a designer. In an interview, he quoted the Bauhaus philosophy of “Learning by doing” and spoke of the importance of design in daily life.
